Foster Parent Mentor Program
The Foster Parent Mentor Program helps retain foster parents by ensuring they are supported in their roles. Veteran foster parents help teach foster-parent classes and mentor novice foster parents. They also work closely with the Caregiver and Adoption Support Coordinator to ensure that foster parents receive the help and resources they need to do their jobs and to feel connected to the system of care and respected by all who work in it.
The mentor is an experienced foster parent with years of experience who helps the foster parent troubleshoot problems in the system and helps direct foster parents to community resources. The mentor also attends all Foster Parent Association meetings and meets regularly with the Caregiver and Adoption Support Coordinator.
To be connected with the Foster Parent Mentor in your county, please contact our Caregiver and Adoption Support Coordinator at (772) 528-0365.
