2018 Haircut Campaign

Share a Haircut with local children in foster care

July 20, 2018

Port St. Lucie — Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, will donate back-to-school haircuts to children who need it most this summer.

From August 1-15, for every child up to age 18 who purchases a haircut at one of Hair Cuttery's 16 local salons, one free haircut certificate will be donated to a foster child and other special-needs children in the community.

Certificates will be distributed through local government and non-profit organizations, such as Communities Connected for Kids. C.C.Kids, which recently changed its name from Devereux Community Based Care, oversees child-welfare services in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.

Since 2003, foster children in the four counties have received nearly 5,000 free haircut certificates valued at $60,000.

"Hair Cuttery has been very generous to us over the years, but we need the community to do its part again this year - we need to see lots of kids in Hair Cuttery chairs this month," said Christina Kaiser, CCKids community relations director.
