Permanency & Adoption Services

Communities Connected for Kids subcontracts with Children's Home Society of the Treasure Coast for the provision of adoption services. Adoption services include recruitment and retention of adoptive homes, assessment, training, counseling and placements.

The adoptions specialist works closely with the dependency case manager once parental rights have been terminated by the court and the child is available for adoption. The adoption counselor completes adoption home studies for families that are interested in adopting a particular child and seeks potential adoptive families for children who are available for adoption.

Once the child is placed with an adoptive family, the adoptions specialist provides support through the finalization of adoption, and during a “post-placement” period.
